Personal Firewall
Once you are connected to the Internet 24/7 over high-speed
lines, you may wish to install personal firewall software on your
computer. This software helps to protect your computer from
unauthorized access to your computer by people on the Internet.
This is highly recommended if you leave your DSL "on" 24x7. You
can always "disconnect" when your DSL line is not in use. Your
DSL line uses PPPoE software that makes a "virtual" connection,
familiar to 56k modem users. However, because this is a "virtual"
connection, it happens almost instantly. (Most of the time in <1 sec)
